Hello-and thanks in advance for any assistance. I have owned several small boats (24',22, and 2 hobie 18') and am looking for a boat to spend several summers exploring the San Juans and on up into Alaska. Any advice as to where to look, websites, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I am a journeyman wood worker, and have restored several British autos so feel comfortable in working on a boat. Would like something that has been neglected, but will be worth something when I finish. (not looking to make a profit I know that is more than unlikely) Can I get something under $60k cash US dollars? Willing to travel to look and buy.

yachtworld.com

This is the best site in my opinion. You can search the nation to see inventory and pricing then narrow to your area for actually boats to look at.

And try...

http://www.boattraderonline.com/ Select "Sail" as Boat Type and put min price at 10000 (so you don't get all the call-for-price boats) and max at 60000. Enter 38 to 44 for lengths. They list 159 boats meeting your size and price requirements. Happy sails *_/), MArk

48 degrees North

Pick up a copy of the free monthly publication "48 degrees North" - at a West Marine or other marine oriented store - or just send in the $20 and get a years subscription. Great for novice or experienced sailors, lots of good info about the San Juan Islands, and other sailing venues in the Northwest, including Portland. Lots of listing of sailboats for sale - both brokered and private sales. See link below. Tim Brogan April IV C350 #68 Seattle
