Same as with human stuff. Definately overboard. Unless you're in an anchorage etc, then into the head it goes.
Anyone who dumps poo of any sort into a harbor, anchorage, or protected area should be arrested, fined heavily, picture posted, and have their overboard valve welded shut.
However, the open ocean is perfectly capable of handling poo, in the most obvious sense of it's incomprehensible vastness, and biological design. there aren't enough boats in the sea to cause any harm from poo. It's the dumping of raw sewage from onshore facilities that are of drastically greater concern, regarding coastal preservation and safety. Even then, the ocean would everntually take care of it. Just ask the Navy, who accidentally dumped 14 million gallons of sewage into San Diego bay, with no residual affects. Still, I don't want it there while the ocean is taking care of it. And some areas are not as capable of handling poo polution, so into the head with it unless you're offshore....3 miles to be legal.
