Not so nice boom end fittings

Hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult or costly, to drill out present boom end rivets and replace with a conventional boom end with sheaves. Hard to believe that they would install that boom end on a boat that's as expensive as yours. For a conventional main, sure; but certainly not one equipped with a roller furling main.

Yeah, I am rather bugged by it. I'm working with the dealer who must wait for a reply from Beneteau. You can see below the line is binding going over the boom end.

The live pic and catalog show a hole through the mast end where a pin and some sheaves could be placed. Still, that's not the best, but maybe lessen the drag a bit. I guess that OEM coating is somewhat slippery, but making that surface polished smooth might help. Or, maybe just put some sheaves on the pin that is already in place?
