"You know Maine Rich also has some negative views regarding hunters... Think this is a hunter forum... Why does he not go to a pearson forum? Do they not exist?" Many folks have negative things to say about Hunters, Catalina's, O'Day's, Pearson's Beneteau's etc. etc.. but we need to put them in CONTEXT. I've owned three Catalina's but I'm the first to say they should NOT be used for extended off shore voyaging and are meant for coastal cruising where they belong and were designed for. Again the CONTEXT is very important.. Besides, what does that have to do with anything? You've had negative things to say about mast head rigs so should we banish you??

Thats just it... I never disagreed with him... REALLY... other people in the forum posted similar boat sizes... I just said (my recollection)... ALL good input in this room... except for the size.. I think smaller boats below 28 feet are off shore capable... I mentioned the flicka and the dana... had already done so previously... Looking back, rich did mention the 28 foot boat, but so did many others...

I actually did not know this was a forum for people other then hunetrs... Not that would matter to me, unless they trash hunters... I would like to thik all are welcomed... Even that new guy who had no clue about off shore sailing... As far as me having negative views about masthead rigs.... I posted a thread comparing mast head and fractional.... I gave both pro's and cons... I leave it up to the reader to decide... My view was not negative to any desighn...

Good advice Jim... I planned on that long ago but another person jumped in and kept me going... So Maine,, what should I do??? I already sent rich an email yesterday asking him if I offended hiom and said I did not mean to.. I posted a post stating such.... What do yu recommend... As far as the bildge comment I will appologize.. will you accept it from me???

If you read the entire post... I was directing my comments to the poster... I was civil and attempting to help him out... I never singled another person out in the forum... It is easy to pick one sentence and make it into more then it is meant to be... Keep in mind that was not what rich did... he specificaly singled me out... He could have just posted his reasons why a 28 foot boat is best and even why a smaller boat such as the flicka or dana would have problems... He did not do that... He singled me out..
