I was in San Diego for business a few weeks ago and I took my son.
While eating breakfast at the Edgewater Grill, we saw the USS Ronald Reagan going through refit and resupply across the bay. I mentioned how cool it would be to actually see a huge naval ship come by while people were eating.
Low and behold, a 'small' amphibious assault ship, the USS Essex came by!
What a treat!
Not much to do with sailing, but it's the little things that make life enjoyable
