so commissioning water system. Cleaned tank flushed rinsed all with the winterization water heater bypass attached. Everything work perfect.... cold, hot, water comes out. Then attached to hot water heater to fill. Water in hooked to COLD and water out to yes HOT as marked on water heater (stamped). Water heater is not taking any water.... water pressure on, hot water taps open to relieve air. Nothing. Took water in off and water shoots out. Put back on and took water out off.... nothing. On water “in value” there appears to be a back flow preventer..... not stuck. What’s happening??? Gonna be cold tonight and hot water would be nice...

Thanks!

There should be a check valve on the water inlet. How do you know it is not stuck?

Disconnect the hose from the check valve and slide something thin into it. It should push open the valve and slide in. If it doesn't then either the check valve is bad or it was reinstalled backwards. Did it get removed as part of the winterizing?

I found that..... pushed it in a few times. Move effortlessly and bounced right back. Nothing on he hw tank was touched. Disconnected water, fully drained for winter. I even wacked in a few times with a hammer. What gives?? Must be inside the in valve.

Does your Hot out have a mixing valve to blend hot with cold? If so maybe something got stuck in there that's preventing any water from coming out? Is there any way to disassemble tge output to see if pressure is making it there?

Don’t have a mixing value. Opened drain valve. Nothing
