Has anyone gone to the seminar (held at various locations around the country), or purchased the workbook/cd series? If so,what are your thoughts? The price for the 1-day seminar is $135. If you purchased the Cruise Pack ($100) and didn't attend the seminar is it a worthwhile expenditure? Any comments would be appreciated.

Nothing earth shattering included. It depends on your experience. We had been out of sailing for about 20 years so it was benificial for us. Dick McKee S/V Constellation

Basics

Larry, My wife and I attended a couple of weeks ago. It was basically a review of Basic Sailing 101. It was okay, but I was looking for a cruising seminar, not a review of basics. Fair winds, Steve S/V Options

John Rousmaniere (author of Anapolis book of Seamanship) was the presenter. It was very well attended, and, I thought very informative (especially the section on sail trim). It IS a bit pricey though. I belong to the local power squadron chapter, and have found these classes also to be very good and very inexpensive (or course, you need to be member, and take lots of prerequisite courses). All in all though, I think the North courses are very good. For what it's worth...
