I've plugged this site before ( with Phil's blessing) and wanted to do it again in case anyone missed it. I'm amazed at the amount of information this guy has gathered as well as written himself ( he has published in a couple of magazines and books.) on Georgian Bay and the North Cahnnel. He's also added a section for info on Michigan, Mackinac Island, Greilickville, etc. It's filled with info on Great Lakes water levels on both sides of the border, navigation, the environment, wind power issues etc. There's also a ton of links to other sites on navigation, weather, marinas, border crossings and so on. disclamer: I have no affiliation with this site.
