I've plugged this site before ( with Phil's blessing) and wanted to do it again in case anyone missed it. I'm amazed at the amount of information this guy has gathered as well as written himself ( he has published in a couple of magazines and books.) on Georgian Bay and the North Cahnnel. He's also added a section for info on Michigan, Mackinac Island, Greilickville, etc. It's filled with info on Great Lakes water levels on both sides of the border, navigation, the environment, wind power issues etc. There's also a ton of links to other sites on navigation, weather, marinas, border crossings and so on. disclamer: I have no affiliation with this site. I found it a while ago and wanted to share the info. with everyone here.

Nice site

Wish I had this one when I spent 6 weeks in the NC/Bay area two seasons ago. I bookmarked it as I will be returning some day soon.

Just learned something new

I was checking out the ice analysis on the Great Lakes from Environment Canada from the site I mentioned, to see how much ice was still left in our end of the Bay. On the ice chart there are Ice "Egg Codes" giving you the coverage of the ice, thickness and % of the coverage. http://ice-glaces.ec.gc.ca/App/WsvPageDsp.cfm?Lang=eng&lnid=3&ScndLvl=no&ID=155 I don't know if this site and looking at other sailing related info makes the "launch date" waiting, better or worse. *o Higgs, we're headed to the N/C this summer for 2 weeks, part of my fascination with his site.
