I guess it's a 1.7 cubic foot fridge.
The guy says the surveyor said it didn't work on DC. I tried looking up the specs but I didn't see that norcold had a website. Aren't all the components DC? If so and it works on AC, it must be a simple fix?
He also says the thermostat may not be working because it seems to run all the time. Has anyone had one of these or had to fix anything on them?

I am such an idiot. I googled it and didn't see it there. Maybe I should have just typed in norcold.com. Thanks Kloudie.
The seller said the boat was 10 years old and the fridge was probably original to the boat. Being out of production is not a big deal to me as long as I can get parts.

Ya welcome.. I took a quick look at the parts list of a similar one and it looks like the thermostat works through the DC power supply.. probably some relays in there, but could be a few discrete electronic components too.. Since it doesn't work on dc, sounds like it might be in there.. I do think that the compressor works on DC, so the AC power supply must be some kind of step-down rectum fryer..??

Most of the norcold units I have worked on have compressors that run on 40vac with a step down transformer for ac operation and an inverter for DC. Their is a relay that selects between power sources but unless the contacts are welded they usually fail in the DC position. Sounds like a bad inverter or relay.
