I thinking of buying a 1980 NonSuch Classic. I'm interested in finding people who have had experience sailing the craft. I'm very much aware, from the pictures, of the accomodations below. I'm looking for sailing particulars. Speed, maneuverability, obviously easy to handle! Any advice? I'm currently sailing a 1977 Oday that I have restored to provide fairly nice accomodations, including Adler Barbour refrigeration (instead of ice chest), Electric/alchol stove, AM/FM radio with CD player and remote in cockpit, other extras. Looking for a move up! Thanks, George Haynie

nice boat

The Nonsuch classic sails very well. It's modern underbody make it deceptively fast, performs well in light and heavy winds. The rig makes it easy to sail, easy to trim. With the wishbone rig, you'll want a fairly new sail and all new running rigging to realize the full advantage of this rig. The Ultra is much roomier down below, but the classic is a much better value.

NONSUCH CHARACTERISTICS

HI, i would like to have a nonsuch as well. There was an article in one of my sailing magazines a couple of months ago that really went over the nonsuch. The author was pretty amazed when the owner sailed it away from the dock because the motor wasn't working. Try going to there website and typing "nonsuch" in the search window. It was either good old boat, cruising world, practicle sailor, or sail magazines. Fair winds, patrick

Thanks

Thanks to all of you for your input. I think I will hardly be able to resist this impulse made on a seasoned American. My LAST boat! Thanks again! George

Thanks, Bill

I appreciate the feedback. Your comments are helpful, indeed. When I physically see the boat, I I should be able to use some of them for negotiation Purposes. I will print them out and highlight so I won't forget! Thanks a million. BTW, beautiful pic. Nothing prettier than a sailboat with full sails and a little heel! Good Sailing! George Haynie
