Has anyone successfully mounted a depth sensor in epoxy on the inside of an ACP hull, like the 216? If so, please say what make and model, as well as the location of the sensor. I know this techhnique is supposed to work for solid fiberglass layups, but I'm not sure about the 216. Bob

What you would have to do is drill a hole with hole saw the size of the thru hull threads only. Make sure that the thru hull will seat down on the hull flat as some transduceres are oval. Then you will need to make a doughnut made of teak for example as a resting base inside and remove only that portion of the structural foam. What ever you decide on the caulking, make sure that you lightly sand the surfaces both inside and outside to get good adhension.
