Any recommendations for refinishing the non-skid surface on my 1986 O'Day 222. I use IG products for the hull but am afraid they would make the surface too slippery.

Non Skid

Use a good marine deck paint, you can buy anti-skid additive. You simply mix in the additive to your paint per the directions or add a little more. Tape off the area to be painted after you have prepared it, filled any holes or cracks, sanded it lightly, and wiped down with solvent. I applied it with a two inch brush, the tread surface is waffled, and it goes on smooth. You can not tell it was brushed on. The additive dulls the finish. Of course you do not ever apply wax. I have over 700 hours on a boat that I repainted the anti-skid on it has held up great. Save a little in a jar for touch ups and you will be good for years to come.

IG makes a non-skid product

It just came out last year, especially for non-skid surfaces. It should be listed in the IG page of the chandlery.

Non-skid cleaning

I have used the IG non-skid sealant and am very pleased with the results on our H23. If the 'glass is real bad, then you may find it necessary to paint. Otherwise, this IG stuff seals well, looks good, and is totally non-slippery even when wet!
