Hello All:

I have a 2002 C-310. I have an area of non - skid that needs repair (the size if the repair will be about the diameter of a quarter). I think that I can duplicate the non - skid pattern using a piece of Gibco Flex-Mold pattern. Has anybody used this product to repair their non-skid? If so, do you know what pattern number you used? Did it turn out?

Also, how did you match the grey gel coat color?

Thanks for any help or insight that you can offer....

Following is the advice I received from Warren Pandy, Catalina: "Since UV affects gel coat so much more than paint, the original grey is probably starting to lose some color tone. (which is even though gel is m uch better than paint on boats, it's best to stay a light color.) Maybe buy a pint of grey gel from our parts dept, (it will be closer thatn what you find anywher else, and all you should have to do is try a few pin drops of white or light beige in it to be very close. You can alse get the lt beige from us which is the interior "seashell" gel"

Warren managed to organise some grey for me locally, as it is difficult to ship paint etc overseas. Can get very close to current color with mix of white. Having problems with hardener however, which I am currently trying to resolve, to repair some pin holes.

Thanks, Michael and Albanach. I've been in touch with Catalina about the Gel cote color and I have ordered and received some Flex-Mold for the pattern. Repair will commence in the Spring.

Have solved my 'sticky' problem: If using the gelcoat for repairs, i.e. without mold, add some styrene wachs. Mixing the Cat. grey with some white flowcoat will give you a very good match to the old sunbleached antiskid.
