I just finished putting one coat of Interlux Brigtsides White combined with the Interlux non skid compound. It looks great, although too white and glossy. It is not slippery when dry, but when wet TERRIBLY SLIPPERY. Is there any combination of things I can put on as the second coat that will rectify the situation. When I got the boat last spring the non skid was terrible and I put on two coats of Interulux Non Skid Paint (Interdeck) and it workded well, but completely wore off in high traffic areas in one year. It also absorbed dirt like a sponge. Many thanks on anything you can suggest. I WANT THIS MESSY JOB OVER AND DONE WITH SO I CAN START SAILING! Thanks.

I was unimpressed with Brightside nonskid

so I added play sand (for kids sandbox from Home Depot). Looks good after two New England seasons

Rose, I put on Epifanes

Nonskid white, #NSW.750 this spring. I mixed it with one of their monourethane blues 1 to 1 to lighten up the blue. Got some polypro beads to add to the blue and then mixed the nonskid white with the blue. The white and blue was about $35/qt online from Epifane. The beads were about $7 #PPB.20 for anough to add to a quart of paint. Liked the result. Plenty of grip and a little shine. Two quarts did a 37 footer with two coats on the heavy travel areas. So try the ready mix nonskid ( Remember it as being a true bright white, or get some polypro beads to add to your paint. Here's a photo, though taken for another purpose.

Good photo of hatch (sidelight) replacement. You should post it under that thread, and explain the "wire saw" for cutting the sealant. Gord

I used flattener

Seattle Gray Briteside, flattener, and non-skid all worked well for me when I did the deck of my old 1981 H33

Gord, I think I did. Gary, what is "flattener" and I take offense at a color named "Seattle Gray" . A better name would be " Seattle Gray only four months a year then the real rains come"
