I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but what's the best way to clean and maintain non-skid? I've got some spots that seem to be chalky and some areas where it's been waxed and the wax is white.

Aurora

I used a product made by Aurora which is a non-skid wax. I cleaned the non-skid very thoroughly then applied the wax. It seems to work pretty well. I got it at Boaters World.

alcohol based wax

When at the boat shop, look for an alcohol-based wax. This is the type of wax that is used in Car Washes. As there there is no wax buildup, your nonskid should look a bit better. If I recall, it is a bit pricey comparitively, but worth the later hassle of stripping wax. steve!

Try the Island Girl non-skid sealant

Clean the non-skid and apply the sealant. Instructions come with the product. Jim Willis can answer any questions about his product. Tom

Non-skid

SOrry to be late in replying. If you go to the top of this forum (near the promo verbiage) you will see the "How to" section from the IG website (www.IslandGirlProducts.com). It gives my recommendations on what has worked for me. After cleaning, we do have a non-skid sealant coming out that is not an acrylic and can be sprayed on. A page describing this should be there by next week and the product itself will be available a week or to after that (we are still shooting for Sept 1 as the latest). About ten people from this site have received free "beta test" samples. The earlietst samles were less concentated, the more recent had 10% more resin. Mr, Ehmke was one of these people. Our resin sealant will stop old sooty engine oil penetrating into the non-skid (photos to come on website). SEA GLOW(cleanser/conditioner) is great on white non-skid to make color snowy white and to ut in preservatives against mildew and oxidation. More on the link as described. Thanks JimWillis
