Someone wanted to see the modifications we did to adapt a cast aluminum/stainless steel BBQ grill to a boat. This is for a fractionally-owned pontoon boat but would work also with adapters for round rail mounting. See the link for where we purchased it (WalMart, only on-line). The deal is that the guys wanted a BBQ and a sizable one. You all know that's $300-$400 for a marine one after you figure the mounts. So, I looked around and found this. Since a lot of us fight with our kettle BBQ's, I figured we'd look for something way more reasonable. I'm posting this three times since the photo project forums are brand-specific and I wanted this for all of them. RD

I'll Bet You Would, Franklin...

...and you can have mine too since I've been on a 'hell no' diet for the last couple of years. If I like it, I can't have it. There is only so much chicken a guy can take... *grr

Rick,

Great post after all the talk awhile back about this subject got me thinking about doing the same thing after seeing a stainless BBQ for 99.00 at a LOEWS home store. BTW I just got done cooking a pork roast on the home BBQ :)

Shiner!

My favorite! Wish I could get it in New York. I have to wait for my yearly trip to DFW to enjoy a nice cold Shiner (with a mesquite-cooked rare steak of course).

Thanks

for the photo spread, I had asked for it. May be a bit more work with round rails, but well worth looking into.

Here Are Some More Rail Mounts

See the link. If you don't want to put it on and off all the time, these may be better. RD

Do you do the Ensenada race with that on.....

Hey Rick: Do you do the Ensenada race with that BBQ hangin' off the rail and all the side curtains up? Is that how you guys finally found a way to win?

Steve, Regarding the Ensenada Race

...heck, down wind you want as much windage as possible, right <smile>. RD

It's OK on a pontoon boat.

Would not want to get the transom on the sailboat all full of grease. Them tin can collectors just don't work well when in motion. Don't understand why you just did'nt leave the legs on, could have also used it ashore.
