Did Hunter build both Cherubinbin designed and Hunter design group boats in the 37 and 37 cutter? If so, what is the easiest way to tell the Cherubini design?
Hunter built the Cherubini designed 37 Cutter and later the Hunter designed Legend 37. The obvious way to tell them apart is the 37 Cutter is cutter-rigged and the Legend 37 is sloop-rigged. Check the "Boat Specs" page for vitals and build dates.
The Legend 37 was built from 1986 - 1989 and was then followed by the Legend 37.5 (then the h376 and now the h380). The design between the Legends and the Cherubini designs was quite radical which you will notice when you look at the pics. I have owned a 1988 L37 for six seasons and have been very pleased with it's performance and comfort. Although the design is somewhat tender, one learns to compensate for that trait and adjust to it.
John designed the 27, 30, 33, 36and 37. and shred in the design of the 25, the 31, 34 , 33.5, 35,L37 were hunter design group products, Cherubini, desigs, have multi opening ports, wide side decks, conv. cabin style, single spreaders, and fin keels, moderate freeboard, small sterns.
