Maybe OMC discontinued the Johnson brand of Outboards because Johnson is a slang word for penis. If so they do qualify for dickhead status. Interestingly there was an inexpensive brand of beer that was discontinued because of the deliberate way it was miss pronounced

You may very well be right on this one. Nonetheless, the Name Horlacher does lead itself to be mispronounced in such a manner. I do remember reading "A Reasonable Doubt", a crime novel written in 1970 by convicted murderer Edgar Smith while on Death Row in Trenton, NJ. Among the many fictional characters were a group of shiftless young men who only cared about girls, fast cars, and drinking cheap beer. Their favorite brand was Horlacher, which they went to great efforts to mispronounce. In fact, an unopened can of it from the 1960s was being sold on E-bay for $30. Somehow, I doubt they would have asked the same price for a can of Rheingold. At any rate, it looks like some controversy is brewing on this thread. As for the origen of the slang word "johnson", nobody know for sure. It might be derived from the Johnson bar, a long control lever first used in steam locomotives
