Noisy Isomat boom

Hello, over the summer my Isomat boom developed an annoying clanking inside the boom. I recently removed my mainsail to start the dreadful winter prep. Once removed I shook the boom while attached to the mast. I clearly hear the sound of metal banging against metal. Can’t tell for sure but it sounds like it’s approximately mid boom length within the boom. I’m guessing that it is the shuttle block. Does the shuttle block run on a internal track or is it suspended by the fore and aft reefing lines? Due to the end cap on the boom I’m unable to see within the boom. I plan on removing the cap sometime this winter. I’m just wondering if someone else has experienced this and if so what was the cause and remedy.

Not familiar with the Isomat boom... could it be an internal block for the outhaul? That would rattle around if there was no outhaul tension.
