Last night at anchor the starboard chainplate started groaning and popping. It continued the following day under sail. What has happened and what might be the cure?
I should have mentioned it is a 30T that has all three shrouds mounted on one chainplate. Shroud tension is great, there is no visible separation anywhere, and the noies is more annoying than it is worrisome.
