Slap Silencer is great!
Check the archives. There are many testimonials to the Slap Silencer. I purchased it from HOW, as the transom slap sort of drove me nuts at night. My wife was a real skeptic. Now, she is the one putting it on the transom as night. :-] It is kind of a "perverse comfort." If it works, you don't know that it works, because there is no slap. Save your money
Save your money and get a big fender and tie it sideways under the stern, attached to the stern cleats. Works for me. MC

Silencer is great
I got one and it's the best $200 I spent on my boat. Even when on a mooring we use it and find we get a better nights sleep. The fender under the transom does not work, neither does one of those styrofoam noodles the kids swim with. We tried everything and until we found the slap silencer nothing worked. When I first found the slap silencer on the web I e-mailed Phil Hering off the site and asked for his personal opinion. He told me the people who bought them were very satisfied, so I too bought one, and have never regretted it! Sleep well

BobFender works just fine
Well, it is a bit more difficult to get it positioned properly than the Silencer, but once you get it right, it works just fine. You only have to determine the line lengths one time and then leave them attached to the fender and mark them. You also need kind of a large fender, but it can be used for other things as well. Beats spending 200 bucks. MC

Works but one size doesn't fit all
I also bought the silencer and it works. However, on my 340 it could be a bit larger - meaning wider. It doesn't quit cover the entire stern.
