Noisey Isolation Transformer

I am just taking possesion of a 2004 Passage 456. The boat now comes standard with an isolation transformer.The transformer is located in the aft port locker. It is so noisey that I think it will affect sleeping in the main staterrom.Anyone else having this problem? Anyway to make these quieter?ThanksDaveS/V Quiet Wings

Transformer Noise

The noise you are hearing may be loose plates in the transformer. Try tightening the bolts that pass thru the transformer.(Usually 4) If this does not correct the problem, you may be looking at replacing it soom. It could be the coils vibrating which will cause a premature failure.
