The innlet for the shore power is making a distinktive humming sound. It is a typical transformator sound but it is quite loud and disturbing and easy to hear. Anyone having the same problen and a suggestion for a solution?

I think you are hearing a bad connection, Andreas.. Have an electrician check it out.. It is probably warm ..?? could be in the shore power cable but could be in the boat wiring or the connector itself..

Andreas

If your boat is a recent Hunter it probably does have an isolation transformer for each shore power cord. We have 2 on our Hunter 38. If you seach the archives for "isolation transformer" you will find some posts related to this noise issue. Apparently solved by replacing the transformer. I would also suggest carefully checking the jumper wires in the transformer to make certain it is correctly set-up for your voltage 240 or 110. Ours was set for 240 instead of our North American 110V and had started to smoke after running our AC for 24hrs. Instructions for the jumpers are on inside of the removable cover.
