Nobeltec VNS Charting Software

We are looking for info on the charts for Nobeltec VNS software. We have a licensed copy but no charts, yet. Does anyone know if the commonly available digital charts of any use in this software or MUST one buy Nobeltec's expen$$ive version? If anyone has any experience with this software pls advise. We are also looking for the digital charts for Northwest Cuba & Yucatan (Isla Mujeres to Belize). Many thanksBob

What type of charts does Nobeltec VNS use?

You can download both ENC and raster (they call them RNC) charts from NOAA. The link below gets you to both. Download a small section and see if you can open it. The ENC charts would be prefered.

Charts

Yes you can run other digital charts on VNS. We have version 7.5 or something and we run several different versions of region 40 (HI) charts on it.

Can't get ENC to load?

Thanks for the replies. I was able to get the raster charts loaded, but could not get Nobeltec to see / load the ENC ones. Not too sure why. A lot of what I got on the Raster side was also a bit general, or lacking in detail. Key West & Miami charts came in at 1:10,000, a couple at 1:20,000, a few at 1:40,000, but the rest were all pretty much in the 1:400,000 and above range... I would like to get the St. Lucie / Okeechobee / Caloosahatchee in as much detail as possible. Any suggestions?Many thanks.Bobpullenbob@yahoo.com

Same problem with ENC charts

I have an older version of VNS (5.0) but have the same problem. I can download the ENC charts into a file but VNS will not recognize them in the program.
