I just purchased a 2006 Hunter 45CC. The water will not come out of the kitchen or bathroom faucets or fill the toilets. The water holding tanks are full and the pumps are working. Does anyone know what the problem may be. Is there a master shut-off value or a filter that could be blocked?

Thanks,

Mike

I don't have your particular boat but thoughts are: 1 is the pump primed if required? 2 are there any screen type filters that
can clog with calcium? 3 is there a seacock at the exit of the water tank? (We had a boat sink at the dock because of a hose failure closing the seacock when away is a good idea.)

Those would be my first guesses. My pump needs to be primed on my boat after being pumped dry.
Good luck!

There are valves which must be open downstream of the tanks. These valves allow either the port or stbd tank to supply the pump. On my boat they are located at the top of the center bilge area just fwd of the galley.

This can happen if the boat has been left with empty tanks for some time. On the inlet to each pump there is a non return valve. It is usually a rubber flap valve. When left unused this can seal off in the closed position. i.e. pressure from the head of water in the tank alone is insufficient to open this valve.

What I have done in the past is to start the pump and then simply crane my neck to a crazy angle and put my mouth over the end of the faucet. One quick suck and - viola- water a plenty.
Not particularly hygenic but very effective!

is the pressure water pump turned on?
is it running?
if yes to both then there is a problem with the pump internal valves
if no to either one turn on the pump circuit breaker and try again.
if still no joy then check your supply, are the manifold valves open?

The pump should turn on when you open a faucet if not and there is product in the tank then the pump pressure sensor is not working or there is no power to the pump.

The head does not use fresh water it uses sea water, make sure the thru hulls for the head are open

Mike, check for valves at the suction of your water pump. I have a 2006 and it has a valve for each water tank right before the water pump. Kind of hard to see unless you get right down there to look. I would assume that the manifold valves are open. I would find it hard to believe they are all closed. However you might want to take a close look. The valve handle should be hanging next to the manifold.

FYI there is an in-line strainer in the coupling before the water heater as well. I found that one when I was installing a by-pass for the water heater. Also check the strainers in each of the faucet Outlets. They may have some matter as well.

Good luck

Mike,
Look in the cabinet under the galley sink. There is a mainfold with valves that control all of the faucets on the boat. The ones you mentioned may be in the "off" position.

Mike,

The three valves for the 3 water tanks on a 2006 45CC are located in the main bildge, lift up the section of flooring at the bottom of the companion way steps, and they are at the top just under the flooring towards the aft end. Chech to make sure at least one valve is open.
