My O'day 272 is not happy and has quit pumping water overboard from the Westerbeke w10-2 diesel.
I've checked the thru-hull (taken hose off) and plenty of water there. I've changed the impeller. I've searched the heat exchanger but can see very little. A week ago there was a little water coming out the tailpipe - every 10 to 15 seconds....now nothing. I think the thermostat is locked on - as temp goes from 45 deg. to 60 deg. and stops climbing. I have a new thermostat to install this weekend. Also the great folks at Lakewood Marine Service in Houston tell me to remove the hose that runs from the impeller to the heat exchanger and fill it with water and reattach....in the unlikely event the
pump needs priming....
Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated.....the closed system seems fine....
