Hi. We are getting very close to buying our first boat, a used 2001 Catalina 310. When I asked that the warrantee transfer from Catalina be written into the Purchase and Sale Contract, I was told by the dealer he was surprised to learn that Catalina will not transfer warrantees to a second owner. I don't doubt the dealer, I just always thought that the warrantee would be transferred. The dealer said that if we ever ran into structural or blistering problems in the future on such a new boat, he firmly believes Catalina would stand by us. Am I worrying over nothing?

Hi: you might try and call the Catalina direct and see what they say. Great boat and good luck. We bought a 2002...

Denise, I purchased a 1 year old C36 in Aug 2000

And I I did read that the warrantee wasn't transferable. But I do beleive what your dealer said about running into structural or blistering problems in the & believing Catalina would stand by you. I do know that there is a strong support system (your Catalina 310 organization for instance) that would be able to help you also. I do know major components of the Boat (Engine , garhauer hardware, etc) HAVE stood by the products on the boat with no regards to me not purchasing it new. If your really still concerned I would call Catalina and ask for Frank Butler (He owns the company 818-884-7700) and ask the question. You might be surprised. personally, I would worry
