Thanks for posting. Did you remove the old inserts or just add the SeaDeck material over the existing?

That looks awesome. Questions: Is some of that installed over molded nonskid? How did that go, and what does the manufacturer say about that application? Curious as some areas on my boat that could use it have molded nonskid in those areas.

Those look beautiful, but am surprised at the "hot feet" comment. I have noticed on other people's boats that the darker SeaDeck was quite hot in the sun, which is why I avoided installing. As far as application over non-skid, I have been told that the adhesive is VERY good, so that the installation over non-skid is a one-way street.

I installed it over the non-skid in the cockpit, companionway, on the gunnels, aft lazarettes and captain chair underside and other areas that you walk on when stern in.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTION PREPARATION: 1) Thoroughly clean the boat surface area where SeaDek® marine traction will be applied. A cleaner that will not leave a residue is recommended. An ammonia-based glass cleaner used with a scotch-bright pad is ideal. The area must be completely dry before applying pads. No need to sand the non-skid. Seadek has a self adhesive on the backing so need to apply adhesive.

It can be easily removed and surface cleaned with acetone to remove adhesive (on the Seadek underside) residue for restoring the non-skid ro original condition OR installing new Seadek.

My dealer scanned the areas to be covered, made a template (see attached) for my approval, fabricated and installed it. Cost was very reasonable.

Service life is reportedly 7 years in the hot sun. My Seadek is under bimini cover so should last longer. After 3 years it looks like new.

I removed the old plastic Before installing. It was not very hard. Two person job. One uses a pair of vise grips to pull up the old plastic, and the other uses a blade of some kind to undercut the adhesive. Clean up takes some time depending on how much adhesive is stuck to the deck. I made my own templates with the material sent by Sea Deck. The material is quite comfortable in the hot sun. The old material was unbearably hot.

@Georgedoyle Thanks for the tips on removal. I added MarineMat to my cockpit floor last year (pics attached). The Flexiteak is very hot, fortunately most of mine is shaded by the bimini and solar panels above my davits. May replace it at some point.
