I had heard rumblings of a new standard protocall for marine instruments to talk to each other. Exchanging an order of magnatude more info than the old standard "NMEA083". I also heard that many manufacturers were reluctant to adopt a new standard even though it would provide significantly more info to the mariner. Anyone heard anything more/different?
