I would say not to worry about DC but try to steer clear of AC and your VHF antenna. Also stay away from your compass and heading sensor if equipped.Getting ready to build my NMEA network [mix of 0183 and 2000 equipment]. Is there anything that needs to be isolated from the NMEA wiring, such as ac or dc wiring, VHF or routers, compass etc
But NMEA 2000 is 12v if you use it to provide power to your equipment.and understand that 2000 and 0183 don't mix directly. You need a converter to let the 0183 format be used on the 2000 network.
Given that NMEA is a 5 volt signal you will not be causing much interference to other circuits but the radio antenna cable (and possibly its power circuit) can cause interference with NMEA
If you have the opportunity, I would go with a NMEA2000. It is a actual modern network, with high speed multi-directional data flow and a high degree of fault tolerance. NMEA0183 is basically a serial port; designed for one 'talker' and maybe two listeners. You can run out of capability fast, and trying to be clever with it can cause very irritating intermittent problems.Ouch! The converters are $200 or so. Maybe for now I'll have to stick with a straight 0183 system.

I just bit the bullet and have gone all 2000 this year but my electronics where in desperate need of upgrade anyway. This should allow total integration of everything, my old B&G did not talk to my E120.
