What kinds of problems are you guys having with your Nissan engines?

dvdm60in and I have a 26.5 that came with a Tohatsu 8 HP engine. It looks like it got hit, the control linkage was broken off - replacements parts are available and will be ordered soon. It looks like a neat little engine and nicely engineered.

I just bought a new Nissan 9.9 4 stroke and so far it's been great. I am replacing an old Nissan 2 stroke that was on its last leg...hoping this stays as good as it has been.

A tip: Use a good fuel stabilizer rated for alchohol blends and decrease the time you leave fuel in a tank. Gasohol will seperate/absorb water faster and is more prone to gunk the tiny jets in the carb.

My Nissan mechanic told me to use the fuel stabilizer for marine use mentioned above and to disconnect the fuel line and run the bowl dry after every use. I have a 5hp 4stroke Nissan that came with my h23. It would not idle down all the way with out dying when I got it. I only used 2 gallons last year and about 1 gallon so far this year, but so far so good. I don't think the Nissan quality is as good as the Yamaha 4stroke I have on my Mutt. Just my opinion. Good luck, Charles

I've got a 2001 Tohatsu 2 stroke 9.8 w/ electric start. Knock on wood - no problems ever. None. Great motor! Sips gas and starts first time hot or cold. Doesn't care.
