I had to replace the original faucet/shower hand set on Karma, my 9.2A. I wanted something that would cover the existing holes and found this Whale unit for under $100 from JMSOnline.net.

It did the job nicely, although installing it led to a bunch of leaks due to 30-year-old cone washers. Oh well, they're cheap enough.

There are plugs to cover those mounting screws on the faucet, BTW. I'm waiting until the leaks are resolved before popping them in.

I always like to patronize the site. The item is out of stock now though. I am glad to know there is a nice replacement. Mine is ugly and needs replacement...but I need a new water tank before I tackle the faucet though!

Darn. I missed that sailboatowners had the faucet. I did just order my jib sheets from them (to go with my newly-installed Alado furler - yay!) and am trying to patronize them as much as possible. May have to order a second "stinky head" book from them as I think I left my first copy on the boat. It's sure a nuisance having her 120 miles away.

How do like the Alado? I am tempted to go that route when I replace my forestay someday. I watched the video. It seems well designed and reasonably easy to install. I had a CDI on my last boat and am not a fan.

The Alado came to just under $1K, if I remember correctly (I try not to linger on those sorts of memories). I know little of these things, but Practical Sailor liked it, and the old salt who helped me install it was impressed. I hope to have it out on the water next week and will let you know how it goes. It's seemingly well-constructed, not overly complicated, and pretty straightforward even for this newbie to install. It seems a lot of the other well-regarded furlers really need a pro to put them in.
