I had volunteered to crew my friends new Jeanneau 39DS on the trip to Boston. I knew it was going to be in December, but I thought the boat was in Hingham, which is about a 45 minute motor. Then he told me the boat is in Portsmouth, RI...which is a 48 hour trip...in winter...this weekend. Lucky for me he opted to take a cute single red head we both know who is ex-CG.
I just emailed him as I thought they were going to leave today and it is 20F and windy. I had visions of ice building up on the bow in Buzzards Bay. Fortunatley they flexed their plans appropriately and will now leave tomorrow putting them in Boston Monday with much warmer weather for the trip. The boat has a brand new diesel fired heater to keep the cabin warm...not that it sounds like that will be a problem
