Has anybody used an aftermarket water pump on a rc8? Lauderdale Deisel wants 490.00 for a new one. A jabsco model perhaps. Perhaps I will have to bust out the credit card??

Wish I could help but ...............

$490 for a water pump ????!!!!The only water pumps worth that kind of money are industrial grade that can pass a house cat if they have to - not some pump the size of my son's fist. When I retire, a small machine shop could make these things and give me an income probably exceeding any salary I've EVER made.One COULD rig a water pump from the car market (small 4 cyl water pump) for a pulley, some brackets etc. and replace the #$%^& thing twice a year for 5 years and NEVER hit $500.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!Just a thoughtReminds me of the piece of rubber to seal my sail drive for which Volvo wants almost $500. No Thanks, I'll make something before I go that route !!!

Isn't it time to install that 5411? I wwould think it would be a lot easier and reasonable to get parts for.

2nd option

I just got the three bladed prop from Ocean propellors in Toms River. I was hoping to at least try it out. The rc8 still runs like a champ. Im gonna use it till it runs no more. Besides Big Nick won't be down till christmas and I need the free labor for such a task.

list of Renault RC8D equivalent replacement parts

About one year ago, there seemed to be some suggestions on this forum that a list of equivalent replacement parts for the Renault RC8D be created. Has such a list been compiled and if so where is it published? Still seems like a good idea assuming the information is out there spread amongst the RC8D owners and only needs to be assembled in one place.

Renault Parts/and Manual

The boat yard is now making an exhaust bend for me. Don't know what it will cost but it has got to be cheaper than getting one from France, if they still have them, that is. I have a manual for the Renault if someone needs it. Wish I knew what Jabsco pump would fit the Renault or where to get impellers for it. Does anyone know of an impeller that would fit?

Renault Parts List

I put down some parts for the R8 some time ago. The list might still be in the Archive.My yard had an exhaust fabricator build a new exhaust elbow for me. The cost was around $100.They also tried to find a replacement water pump impellor. They found out all their jobbers bought from San Leon, TX.Hope this helps.
