Not expecting it to be that bad. Estimated landfall is right where I am with a minimum cat one winds. I'll be stripping the boat tomorrow, and adding extra lines.. Fairly well protected marina 20 miles inland, with floating docks and BIG tall pilings. We'll see.

At the house I'll stow deck chairs, etc and tie down loose "Stuff". Then wait and see. No plans to leave on this one- If it was already a cat 2 or 3, would be gone

The rain will occur because a High Pressure over Central TX is pushing it back, but it will stall over land and shouldn't be fueled.
Expect hard short blow with gusts, before the Ghost of Harvey really goes away.
Even us, over in MS, are expecting heavy rains. All week through Monday.

Rains are a good de-energizer for the Gulf. We still have 2 months more for the 2017 season.
Take Care...

Not trying to be rude or smartasseed, but I am genuinely curious, in an emergency situation as this will marinas go round the clock on haulouts or just go home at closing time?

Probably not round the clock.
I know that in some Pensacola, FL marina/yards, you have to pay a few hundred dollars to be on the haul out list before peak storm season. In the event of a hurricane, you must get your boat to the facility within a prescribed time and you will be guaranteed to be hauled out. The fee to be on the list does not include the actual haulout fee nor does it include the daily storage/yard rate. If you don't pay to be on the list, you probably aren't going to get hauled out.
Five years ago, when I purchased my boat and had it off loaded in a yard in New Orleans, there was a minimal Cat 1 storm that was heading to south Louisiana. My boat was already on stands and not rigged yet. The marina did haul quite a few boats two days before the storm. They may have worked overtime a couple hours a day; however, I didn't recall them working round the clock....may not have had the demand to warrant longer hours. They are not going to risk their employees lives, especially if an evacuation of the area is called by local officials. Another factor is available yard space and stands, most yards that I have been in are at least half full, or more, at any given time on the coast. They don't have an unlimited amount of yard space nor stands to haulout and store an unlimited amount of boats.

May you all be safe.

This storm is not one to play with, having grown up,on Galveston bay I understand the difference between tropical storms and major cat.4 hurricanes. I delivered newspapers in a tropical storm back in the day, they just produce lots of rain.

Harvey has transformed from a minor nuisance to a major threat. I hope everyone has made it out. Your life is worth more than any property. The threat here appears to be more than just the passing of a storm and now may transform into a battle for survival. If it does anything close to what is predicted, some areas will be under 10 or more feet of water for many days and the bay's and inlets will see elevated levels by 3-5 feet ( or more) for a month or longer.

God bless and stay safe

The good news is I moved my boat to Pcola last year so it's not in Freeport, TX for this.

The bad news is I moved my boat to Pcola last year so it's in Pcola for the next one.

When the Texicans started propping for Harvey, I hope they remembered the Alamo. I have a special feeling for it.
