Hi Chuck Rose,
This is a letter with 'good luck' from Holland. Since november
1999 I had very often e-mail contact with Sid. We 'talked' about the
Vega and about many other things. When I sent a mail, 24 hours later I got one
back.
His last e-mail he sent me on the 17th of May, mailing that he
was going to the Weight Watchers and that he was hoping having lost 10 pounds;
the next day he died. If you are interested in this letter I can mail it to
you.
My name is on the list in the last newsletter (which I
shall keep as a treasure). So, if you send your first newsletter in August,
please remember me and send me one.
Sidney got always our Vega Bulletin (three newsletters per
year) and he said to me: "it's not a newsletter, it's a magazine". If you like
to get it (although you can't read it), please mail me your address and it will
be done.
Sid asked me to translate a Dutch poem which was in
a Vega Bulletin. I did it, but it was too late.
By the way, do you have an e-mail address of Shelly
Baum?
Do you know that the 18th International Friendship Regatta
starts on the 17th of July in Hoorn, the Netherlands? Ross Dring will join us. A
pity that no more Americans can come over here. Sixty Vega's from 9 nations in
Europe will come to Hoorn for this week. If you (or others) want more
information about this Regatta I can send you our Programme-book, that I
made, as attachment.
Again from Holland: we wish you good luck with your
newsletter and appreciate that you take over this task from
Sidney!
Hopely my English is not too bad.
Ciao,
Yvonne Barnasconi and Hartmut Hinkel..
