Greggy....The Head Mister

Kate and Scott and all those who have enjoyed my short company, I think I am going to leave. I own a few sailing web sites now since about 1999 that I run with a substantial following. However, I thought, since I have a hunter 27, that I might give you guys a try. Yes, I have a unique sence of humor. Hehehe. Actually, you have not seen the best of me in that respect. As far as humor goes, I do have a knack at it. And I do have to say that sailing is my Strong Point. There is not much I don't know about sailing related topics. And I am a sail by the seat of my pants sailor. Not much frightens me. (oops, my testosterone is boiling over again!) But I think I may have stumbled across a web site full of cigar smoking older men that don't have an ounce of a sense of humor. As us entertainers say, "Tough Crowd"....So, I think I may just bow out. I spoke to Phil last night via e mail and discussed my intentions. I have not heard back just yet. However, he did e mail me earlier a few times to fill me in on what type of personality this message board has. And from the conversation, I gather this board is nothing but serious serious serious. In my life, I have learned that if you take life too serious, you don't live too long. And if you do by chance live a full life, you will have certainly missed out on the whole meaning. And isn't sailing supposed be be fun? If not, they would offer it as a class in law school. So, my friends and those who see me as an enemy, Good day to you. May the seas be calm and the winds be steady and unbroken. Cuz God knows no one likes it when you guys break wind! So, unless the majority of you want me around, I shall bow out for now. God Speed! If any of you would like to visit me, you can find me at the related link below...Skip's South Coast Yachts. Thank you phil for allowing me to post my web site and not deleting this message! If you need anything, let me know pal!

That's a funny post.

Funny because I was not aware you had even been here before. If your own sites are that much fun are they also as informative as HOW? And if they are will you share the links?

Good riddens!

"Skip" I don't know who you are or why you think we care what you do, but I don't come to this site for laughs, I come here for help! And if I happen to chuckle once in a while, then that's a bonus. I beg to differ with you on your "knack" for humor. I personally don't see it! Be safe, be happy, and try keeping your mouth shut once in a while, it works really well. And by the way, I do not now, nor have I ever, smoked cigars! Ron

icky Poo guy

I love cigars, almost as much as our former president from Arkansas.Nobody is going to ask you to stay but we welcome helpful info. Just make your (Icky Guy) posts in the funny stories forum, then those who dislike humor can avoid it.Just an idea. Hey, you can't please everybody all the time.

Too Bad Skip

A few observations that I've made from this website. 1.) Though I DO get a lot of great advice on HOW, I've also found that everybody is an expert on this site. Some people don't have a clue what they are talking about. Anytime I make suggestions, they are just that...suggestions. And 2.) People take themselves WAY TOO SERIOUSLY!!! I always thought that sailing was supposed to be fun. Not everyone on this site is a stick-in-the-mud. My advice to people who don't like your threads is...DON'T READ THEM!! Just a suggestion though...

hey, thanks Phil...

I hope that Skip or Greg or however the hell he is continues to stay on HOW. Don't let humorless knuckleheads bum you out...that's not what sailing is about. Besides, what is life without a few challenges along the way...fair winds Skip!

Skipper AKA., Greggy....The Head Mister

Hi Phil, Tim, Island Jack, Scott., Skipper's Reply

Hey guys, This is Skipper: AKA, Greggy the Main Mister, Darth Vader, Tim Fetter, Ralphy Mouthy, Pee Wee, Neptune, Incredible bulk, Etc. Hehehehe (The man with 259 personalities) Well, Today, I was out working on my Luger 26. I am totally restoring the whole boat. It is an older boat...1976. But it has so much potential. The guys in the white coats let me out today to work on it. They keep telling me that it is not even my boat. And some guy named George keeps coming out to the back yard and telling me he is so please with the work I am doing on his boat! Oh well, I enjoy doing it. That's the important thing right? I thought I would sit back a bit and see what happened as a result of my post, "News flash, Skipper's Bowing Out". A few of the members really made me feel unwelcome. I noticed they were the ones that seemed to post day after day after day two and some times three times a day. So, I knew they were the ones that probably feel the most comfortable on the message board. I, owning several message boards have found that some times when a person gives so much advice, he or she often thinks his or her word is law and that if he or she does not like some one, he or she feels that they can just tell that person to get lost. I have often found that the reason people do this is because they find the new member a threat in one way or another. I am not saying this is true in this case. Here me out. Advice givers even if the advice is not all that great, often, after a while, get a sense of power out of it. And I have noticed that these people on my sights don't like it when some one else contradicts them, offers better advice or in some way steals the show. Well, let me tell ya...I am not trying to steal any show. Yes, I love the companionship. But I don't mean to make you think that I want any type of following. Let me cut to the chase. I created the web sites I have thus far for one reason only. Yes, they are all related to sailing and there is a lot of satisfaction there. But the main reason I created them is to acquire friends. That is the true reason. And I have made many friends. When I first started out, I thought if I made 2 or 3 really good friends, I would be satisfied. Well, I have way more than that. Most people can not count their best friends on one hand. Most are lucky to have one good friend in life. Well, I am extremely lucky!!! However, my craving for friendship never stopped. I can not get enough friends. It seems that every friend I meet, I learn so much more about life and come to find my self enjoying it all that much more! And now, when I go sailing, I often have 3 to 5 other groups of people joining me. Don't get me wrong. I am not always funny. If you get to know me, I am most often calm and serious. And every so often come up with something funny to say. But the true reason for my friendship acquiring tactics is simply because I enjoy people. What am I getting at? Well, I sat back and decided to listen to a few posts to see if everyone was as serious as the few that posted some rude replies to me. (We all know who they are) I will not mention any names in hopes everyone forgets. And even know these people don't like me and my sense of sailing humor too much, I wish they could enjoy my company and accept me no matter how different I am. The world is full of many people. I don't think any one is totally alike?!?!? Well,,,,There was one person just like me but I killed him. Every since, I have been sitting here in my cell typing away on this old computer here in D Block of Ohio State Prison....(I am Kidding!!!!!!!!!!) But it seems that most replies to my post are in favor of me staying. Yes the first couple are not. But I expected that. I figured the ones who dislike me would try to control the mood. But no one likes serious all the time. And I understand that no one likes funny all the time. So, as you can see from this post, I am serious. I just would like to say thank you to those who stood up for me. Truly, I was hurt. But I think now I actually have some new friends here on this site. Oh, to those of you who think I have a problem with the management of this site. You are mistaken. Phil, who represents his company, has been nothing but kind to me. You guys only saw the messages on the board. If you could only see our letters, you would understand what really happened. Phil is a true gentleman. And no, I did not forget to post my URL. I left it out because I thought that if I posted it, people might misunderstand and think I am out to steal members. Yes, I do want people to come visit me and the work I have done on my site. But I would rather use my site as a tool. There are certain things that this site does not have that mine does. I have movie, file, photo, colored text....just tons of extras that can be done on my message board. I think that threw my web site, this one can be so so much better. For instance. Say Steve wants to show everyone a video of him sailing last weekend. Well, he can post it on my site and link it to this one via the related links area. The possibilities are endless! But thank you phil for posting the link for me. Let me know what you guys are interested in. I realize that the members like it here. But maybe if you guys need to post say a photo album of your boat, you can use Skip's and link to here! You can post as many photo as you like and they will always be there for all the members here to see! Well enough of that. If you give me the stage, it is hard to shut me up! Still, I am not going to post my link. I will let phil do it if he chooses. And if so, I will give my word that the link will only benefit this sight! Well, push come to shove, if some one here is bothered by me, just ignore me. Don't reply to my post. And please do not say mean things to me because, obviously, I have feelings too ya know!? And I will try very hard not to talk to the ones who don't like humor. Oh, one other thing...hehehe...I just can't stop talking huh? I love giving advice in the way I do it..."Some times with humor and some times not" but I admit that even if my idea sounds like the perfect solution, it may not be the correct solution for you. In fact, as hard as it is to believe, I have even been wrong from time to time...(like the time I told that one guy how he could remove stains on his sail with muratic acid!1!!! Oh man, was he mad at me!!!! Hehehehe Well, he ended up being the thing on the lake. Everyone ended up being so gelous of him because he was the only one on the lake with the really cool big round hole in the middle of his sail! So, I have been wrong at times. But don't tell any one. I have a reputation you know. This has been a message from The All Powerful and Knowing Skipper! This message has been brought to you by Aunt Emma's diarrhea pills. If you got that feeling down low that just won't go away, take 2 or 3 of Aunt Emma's emulsified Enema pills offered in chewable form for those of you with out any teeth. P.S. You guys do have to admit...Since I have been posting, My posts do inspire many replies. Hehehehehe

Hi Al,,,Hmmm? I can not remember?

Hi Al! Hehehe I used a few aliases. I can't remember! Hehehehehe. I have been posting for a few weeks and my mane user name is Skipper...The Skipper....The All Powerful and Knowing Skipper...Eric from Port Clinton Ohio (Lake Erie). I might have used Dave once or twice. But from now on, I promise to add the Skipper part in my posts so you know who I am all the time. Thank you Al for the warm welcome! Your welcome tickles me inside. I own a Hunter 27 among other yachts. It is the largest yacht I own but not the most equipped or sturdy. I also own a Luger 26, South Coast 22 (this one is the most equipped and sturdy), Nacra 5.2 cat, two sun fish and a dingy. I love sailing as you can see. And I love restoring my boats almost as much as I love sailing them!

Skipper's Egg Roll Recepi for Sailing Trips

I was thinking that I would share a recepi with you guys that you could use on those long sailing trips. I have a force 10 bbq grill on the stern of each boat I own. I also have a stove/oven on one and just a stove in another. I use the bbq the most. And you know what? I used to cook all sorts of make it yourself stuff. But have found that I am usually having such great fun while I am on vacation as I am sure you will as well, that when it comes to cooking time, no one wants to take the time and do the work. So, I do this now. I go to the store and get things like boxes of already breaded chicken breasts. Or a grab brats or corn on the cob or even those little pizzas believe it or not! Then, I freeze all. Bye the time you go to use them, they will be thawed. All I do is put a little tin foil down on the grill and spray with Pam spray. Then I turn the grill on and stick my pizza down or my chicken or what ever else I can find that is pre made. I have even found veil parmesan (Sp?). If you are looking to make spaghetti, you can use the bbq for that too! Just keep the lid open and boil the water right there on the burners. Any thing you make at home, you can make on that barbeque grill. The only difference is that you must stand there and watch it. It is very easy to burn things on a grill at sea. Here is a recipe I like a whole lot and I know you will too. But it involves some work....You can do the work at home, freeze them and then take them out on the boat to cook when you are ready! Skipper's Korean Egg Rolls Go to the store and get a pack of egg roll wraps...the small ones the measure about 4 by 4 inches. Then get a bowl and shred up 1 cabbage (Use a cheese shredder), and 3 carrots (Take a peeler to get shreds from the carrots) Next take a tube of sausage and fry it up making sure to chop it all up into tinny little pieces as you cook it. Drain the grease. Now add in the cabbage and carrots to the frying sausage. Sauté it till it is all soft. As it cooks, add sesame oil, Kikkoman and pepper to taste. Then put it all into a bowl Now take one wonton and fill it with the mixture, Each wonton will take about two table spoons of the mixture. Have a cup of water available for the next part. Take your finger, dip it in the water and run your wet finger around the edges of the wonton. Then take each corner and bring them up and to the center. Push all the corners together. They will stick together since the wonton is wet. Now seal it all together so that you have a totally encased package. When you are done, each wonton will look like a little star. Put them in the freezer on wax paper. When they are frozen, take them out and put them in your cooler in a way so that as they thaw, they will not stick to each other. Now, when you are ready, you can take them out and fry them up! All you need is a little olive oil or veg oil. You don't deep fry them. Just fry them normally. Brown each side and you are done! Note: You can choose to fry them all up at home, freeze them and then cook them again on the grill just to make them crunchy. This makes them last much longer in the cooler!!!! Enjoy! Your New Friend, Skipper
