Mates: A friend of mine from the Hunter list, John Richard, posted a nice story about this race. If your interested you could visit http://www.jacksplace-hunter410.com/2005ensenada race.htm I've done that race twice but in a boat that was no where near as beautiful as John's. The main problem I had with the race was the food we were eating!! We had Kentucky Fried for lunch the first day, and the same for dinner, which was OK but when the skipper trotted out the same stuff for breakfast that was just too much. Other guys I know on other boats had quiche and other good stuff meals but not us. Another thing was the ice melted and the beer got warm. I could not wait to get off the boat and get a decent meal. All the way down I was thinking of lobster - I could actually taste it but when we arrived in Ensenada I found lobster was out of season - what a bummer. The skipper asked me if I wanted to sail back with him but I told him my wife was having a baby and then someone told him my wife was 60 years old. He never asked me to do the race with him again - I wonder if it was something I said!!
