Statpower is highly recommended.

found an internal blown fuse

Well just took the charger and drilled out the rivets so I could take it apart and on the ground wire to the batterys I found a large fuse blown, says its a buss h80 100. 100 amp fuse? sounds high but I guess if that fuse blows the smaller one might blow too. Several reasons that fuse could have blown. Had a severe storm down at the lake last weekend. Moved the docks about a foot. Possible lightning or power surge. and I did the final installation on my stereo system last week. The three amps I am powering for the stereo max out at 1015 watts of power. Definatley enough to dim the cabin lights when cranked up. Possible could have blown the fuse when cranked up or I might have arced a wire on installation. Don't remember if I arced anything or not. I am ussually pretty careful when wiring. Well I am going to try and locate this fuse tomorrow. Tim Welsh H34 AKA Cabo Wabo

Internal fuse did not repair

Still blows the 8 amp fuse. There looks to be a capacitor in it. I need to figure out how to test it. The only other thing in the charger that looks like it could go out would be the coils.

Tim, sounds like it's toast and if you eliminate

the fuse, it will make toast. Probably time for a new charger. The new chargers available are pretty cool. They do things like, 'multi stage' and equalizing. Reason enough to replace an older unit. Yours' is an older unit, isn't it?
