I am shopping for a dodger for my 2004 H33, does anyone have recommendations?
I am looking for sources to buy from and what it cost, in short I am looking for specifics.

Depends on how much you are willing to spend. One option is to have a local canvas shop custom make it for $3,000-4,000 (SF Bay prices). Another is to purchase a custom dodger from JSI in St Petersburg, FLfor ~$1,200+shipping and install it yourself. Need to consider material - Sunbrella Plus, Seamark (upgrade), window vinyl - Strataglass is one option (I am sure there are others), 1" or 7/8" diameter stainless steel frame, need to handrails, boat fastener type and stitching quality and padded window cover. I went the JSI route with Seamark (to match 4626 navy blue sail cover color), Strataglass, 7/8" diameter frame (JSI standard), no handrails, buttons vs. twist locks, extra heavy-duty stitching and padded window covers. Economical and provides excellent wind protection in high wind conditions in the SF bay and provides rain protection for the companionway.

Are you looking for full enclosure or just the dodger. Our's came with full enclosure, which can be removed as much or as little as the conditions warrant.

Scott, yours looks perfect we already have the front/rear arch biminis.
Did yours come from Hunter, or did you add it later?
If later where did you buy it?

Steve, Stephen,

Since the mends over the patches on the repairs on my dodger are wearing out I wonder if you have a recomendation for a dodger builder in the Bay Area?

I am amazed at how long the canvas and eisenglas has lasted. This dodger was worn out when we bought our boat 10 years ago. Also the frame is plastic coated steel and that has held up very well too.

My sailboat is berthed at Brickyard Cove. I have spoken to many canvas makers in the North SF bay about dodgers. A local contact is Tom at Cover Canvas at 510-234-4400 at Brickyard Cove. Others include from Rick and Rhonda of Bayside Canvas in Vallejo 707-812-8108, baysidecanvas3@aol.com, Elizabeth Durrant in Richmond at KKMI on Cutting Blvd, Pacific Coast Canvas in Alameda, (510) 521-1829. Cover Canvas in Sausalito (415) 339-9268, Ginaloa Canvas in Sausalito - (415) 332-3339, Starbuck in Sausalito - (415) 332-2509, Land or Sea Custom San Rafael - (415) 459-5966 or Crockett - (510) 787-2203. I recommend soliciting costs from these folks + a couple of others who advertize on Latitude 38. Please let me know if I can provide any further assistance.

John B:

The company that made my dodger was called Pacific Coast Canvas, I think that they have changed the name to Pacific CREST Canvas. They were located at Grand Marina. Our dodger is going on 4 years and it is still tight as a drum.
