i have recently purchased a 1985 oday 31....among many other things i am replacing the batteries. the boat will be kept on a mooring..no wind or solar. i do have a 2000 watt gen. after reading maine sails postings it seems that wet cells might be my best bet. is there any advantage or disadvantage in replacing the group 27's with group 31's ?.....thanks for the help

I have four 6 volt golf cart batteries for my house bank. They are about 6 years old now so they are not at full power any more but I am going to try to get one more season out of them. Not sure but I think I'm able to get 400 Ah with two in series and the pairs in parallel.

Good luck. Noank is a great little harbor. I've sailed out of there a few times.
