Well yesterday was the "None but the bravest" race at our local club. I was raining pretty hard at the start and cold but the rain stoped and it warmed up a little. Winds where blowing pretty hard, sustained 15-20 i belive with gusts at about 30. At one point the 30 footer in front of me got knocked down! Luckly I say the gust hit him and let my sails out! Overall with my handicap I got 2nd though! Just wondering if anyone else have any other races yesterday?

We did--sort of

Low 50s here, light wind. We had a couple Scotts racing; I was giving joy rides, didn't have my racing sails up, but followed them around the course anyway.

While I hate to admit it......

.....we had a wonderful New Year's Day sail. Leaving the dock around 11 am with the cruising chute flying in the light northerly wind, we sailed out to one of the barrier islands. After having lunch, a quick stroll along the beach, and then relaxing for an hour or so, we hoisted anchors just in time for the westerly breeze to kick in giving us 12-14 apparent wind. The eight mile sail back home was wonderful, helping us to arrive back at the dock around 4:30. What a wonderful way to start the new year! D. Dixon s/v CD EXPRESS
