When I was doing work on main frames and circut boards, I was taught when doing wire connections to: With ring or open connecters to fold the wire back over the insulation, then put the connector on pushing the wire in until the wire end was visable. Crimped then a touch of solder to the connector and wire. Then the shrink tube. A pain in the ass for time but just about failure proof. The wire had good contact with the connector and solder.JimS/V Java
