I saw this somewhere and stole the idea. I used the empty space under my floorboards to store wine and liquor bottles. I made the racks out of PVC lumber found at the local home store. It is rotproff and won't absorb water and is easy to work. I used to store these bottles under my nav seat, so that ares is now available for other items.
Drink up, ye hardies!

Looks great. I too saw it somewhere but haven't tried to copy it. Yet :) Have you been in rough water yet? Just curious about how they'll hold up or have you done it in such a way to keep them from banging around?

foam rubber

I designed the racks so that the distance from the bottle edge to the underside of the floor board is 1/4". Then I attached 3/8" foam rubber to the underside of the floor boards. They don't move at all. A broken bottle would be a crime (ever seen a grown man cry?).

Why I have a feeling that you have one of the nicest Beneteau 361 in the world?
Hmmm, probably if you have a link somewhere with (lots of) pictures of your boat it will be interesting for other owners......!

Hmm, I'm assuming your bilge is always dry? I like it.

"Dry" wine

Don't worry, with my dripless stuffing box, my bilge is so dry I have more problems with "dust bunnies" than with moisture. I have to pour a gallon of water in the bilge sump every few months just to keep the bilge pump lubricated enough to pump if I ever need it.
My air conditioner has its own sump and pump, so I don't even get moisture from its condensation either.
