New Vetus lenses for my H34 deck light

Just received and installed my replacement lenses for the Stainless steel AISI 316 deck and shell ventilators along with new O rings from Vetus. They weren't in stock so had to wait for them to ship from overseas. Cost to replace was $38.00. If not for the eyesore of the weathered and discolored ones after 31 years of facing the sky, I wouldn't have bothered. But my eye goes to things that look yucky and now my eyes are happy!

The rep I spoke to at Vetus who identified the part and arranged the order is Mike. His number is: 321-454-3375 - in case your eyes are like mine and your lenses are toast.

Very nice. How did everything else look on the deck? I presume its plywood cored. Nothing rotted or signs of water intrusion?

I haven't noted any problems, and am on and all over the boat frequently. Any time I've had leaks occur, I've gotten on top of them. When I replaced the old ports with new, that was a concern I had - that I'd find deteriorated or wet wood. No evidence of that, no wetness behind storage areas against the bulkheads etc., where that might show up. I've made it a point to occasionally go to the boat during heavy rain storms to look and listen. On deck, just that crunchy sound as you walk around, which I understand is an inherent feature of our boats.

Dan, I have to tip my hat to Claude (Kloudie1) for pointing me in the right direction a bit over a year ago when I asked for leads. It was down a ways on the list, and I finally got to check it off. Our H34 family is a great group who freely share.

Glad that worked out, Dave. Funny that I have one that looks fine and one that looks not fine. They both are the same age. Guess I'll have to get a new lens now too.
