Hello again everyone,
Special thanks to Frank & Tina Debaggis for showing us their lovely Vega
2 weeks ago. It really gave my wife Lita and I the feel for the boat
that we needed. After that we made an appointment to view a Vega on
Lake Champlain that had become available to us. This past weekend we
spent getting to know her, talking with her owner and staying aboard
overnight on the hard.
After careful thought and consideration and much discussion, the seller
agreed to sell her to us, and we agreed to purchase her. Sometimes
things are just easy and perfect. Sometimes the right thing just "falls
in your lap" as they say. It sure seems that way here. It seems like
we are the perfect next owners for the owner to sell to.
So we will be taking possession of our beautiful new Vega (~#1350) in
mid May when the marina launches the fleet for the season. In the mean
time we get to research re-naming procedures.
Since my wife is a weaver, and this Vega is the means by which we will
get to enjoy our dreams of exploring the world, we love the name "dream
weaver" right now. We find ourselves looking at the stowage under the
settees and figuring if we could squeeze a collapsible loom into them.
Bikes and sails in the cockpit lockers, cats in the cabin and a loom
under the settee.
That's the plan.
Amazing to be entering this community so quickly. We hadn't planned to
buy our boat until the fall, but this opportunity just came up and we
jumped right on it. Carpe Diem!
