New Vega Owner - Shaft/prop zincs

Just bought my first sailboat a 1975 Albin Vega. I have many
questions and I thought I'd post them individually rther than in one
long text.

1. I read the recent thread on zincs and I'm yet a little unclear
on the shaft/prop protection.

I just had her hauled and there does not appear to be any zinc
protection existing on the prop or shaft. (although the prop looked
fine once a soccer ball sized family of barnacles was removed)

It's a combi prop, and I notice from inside the boat that the shaft
appears to move in and out as the throttle/pitch controller is
manipulated. I'm not sure exactly how this works on the outside.

Question is, There is about an inch of shaft exposed on the outside
can a zinc be mounted there on the shaft is that space needed for
longitudinal movement of the shaft?

Second question, is there a zinc available that fits between the
most aft nut and washer (I assume this holds the prop on)?

If so Where could I find one?
