I just stopped in to RonCo plastics in Tustin, CA and spoke with Scott. We discussed the problem of replacing the V berth fresh water tank on the Hunter 42.
As anyone who has tried to remove this tank knows , the tank is bigger than the access points for this space. I suggested splitting the mold lengthwise. This would create two thinner tanks that would both fit through the V berth entry points, and preserve the original tank volume.
We discussed fill and vent openings and came up with simple solutions to these issues. I walked away feeling Ronco had a clear vision of what was required.
Scott has received 4 requests this year and several in previous years for this tank. He is still reluctant to invest in making the molds required. He opined that total cost would be approximately $500 plus $150 for making the mold. This cost would diminish if more orders are received.
All interested please contact Scott at Ronco plastics at 714 259-1385
