Hey everyone Just stopping in to give you fair warning. Recently I rescued a 1974 Venture 24 from a back yard. She was in pretty bad shape but, I've seen worse floating. I'm in the process of re-doing the boat. there are 3 cracks on on the transom and two on the deck by the transom. There is no rudder or sails. Other than that and a ton of sanding 
I ordered west systems to get started fixing as the sanding is completed and plan on priming her soon after. I'll be spraying the pain on (fortunatly I have a brother who has been a sprayer for over 20 years) and he volunteered to spray after I get her in shape. The cabin needs some love (it's gutted) and Jenn (my interested other) is working hard on the inside while I work on the outside. I'm sure i'll be driving you guys nuts with questions and ideas... One question to start with... For interior priming and painting. can I use store bought primer and paint or do I have to go get marine grade. I was thinking why cant I use a store brand you know kiltz or bullseye or something along those lines to get things started inside? Let me know what you guys think or please share some ideas. I've enclosed a picture of her (Not Jenn) ;-) for you guys to see where i'm at. this is right after the powerwash and starting hardware removal. Jason
