I am the proud owner of a 2010 Hunter 36 and I love it. It sails like a charm and very easy to single hand, which I do most of the time. I am still in the process of learning about the various systems and this forum has been very useful.

My first project is to swicth the manual Jobsco toilet with a raritan sea eara conversion kit, which I just ordered. It looks like all what I have to do is to instal the provided inline strainer in the water intake hose and wire the push button and the pump. There is already an unsued wire under the vanity (from the factory).

1. I would appreciate if somebody could tell me how best to lead the wire from under the vanity to the pump. I am thinking of just drilling a hole through the separation wall and put some sealant so water from the shower does not leak into the vanity closet. How does Hunter wire electric heads in the Hunter 36.

2. I have been reading about access to the water pump on the Hunter 36. Has anybody tried to remove the front bottom panel where the last stair is attached. It looks like it is held in place with 3 screws on each side. Access to the pump would be much better is that panel is out of the way.

Thanks in advance
Ben

???? Conversion

I am not sure I understand what conversion kit you are using and love to know more info.
I have 07 H-36 and had changed the factory installed WC toilet back in 08 or 09 with a PHII and love it but we are thinking of now changing to a sea era electric toilet which I should have done back than but did not look into the future.
We have been looking and talking to other boaters wifes who love the sea era electric and will be most likely change over in this Nov.,we like the PHII but my wife has problems pumping some times and has to use lots more water so I try to do what ever is easy for her while cruising for weeks at a time in Florida

We put in the Sea Era in 2005. That was over 600 (non-continuous) days on-board ago and we have not had the first problem with it. Highly recommend it!

$$$$

Can you cancel, this past april when looking up that toilet I did find a better price for the whole toilet.
I will look again to see where I saw the good price for the whole unit.

Wire

Sailaway:
I didn't install mine, I had it done. The switch is on the wall between the head and the closet that is between the head and the port lazzarette. I'll be there tomorrow and see if I can figure out how they got the wire there. I'll let you know what I find.

My model didn't have a wire under to the vanity, so they had to get one from the panel.

Not Good

Can't find the cheap price any more and I have a breaker on the main panel for electric head but don't remember seeing any extra wires in my cabinet and so I guess I will drill a hole as you mention.

Head wire

The wire was not easy to see as it was coiled in the corner at the back of the switch for the shower pump. I suggest you go with the conversion kit rather than a full toilet. You can store the base of your current manual toilet on the boat for a quick reinstall and use in case you have a problem with the electric toilet while on a cruise.

Thanks for the info and yes I was thinking keeping my manual pump for backup and sounds like conversion kit is a good idea too.
I do have a beaker for electric toilet on the main panel and when I return to Florida in Sept I will look for the hidden wires and thanks again.
Just a added idea I added a fresh water sprayer next to my toilet many years ago and use only fresh water flushing except when far away from fresh water, got the idea from my motor home and do also have setup the sink to drain into toilet intake for flushing out any sea water.
Most times when we cruise for 3or 4 weeks we can refill fresh water when fueling up and so rarely use sea water.

Why don't you get the fresh water conversion kit instead of thr seawater one? A sprayer near the head is very convenient. How did you route the water hose too the sprayer?
